Why Argentina has several dollar rates
The official rate is the one banks and trade use. The blue dollar is the informal street rate. MEP and CCL are legal market rates obtained by buying a bond in pesos and selling it in dollars: MEP settles in Argentina, CCL settles abroad.
The gap (brecha) shows how much more each rate costs than the official one. A wide gap usually means pressure on the peso or tight capital controls; a narrow one, a more unified market.
